1st CONVENTION OF ISPOR INDIA TELANGANA CHAPTER on 25-01-2015
ISPOR India Telangana Regional Chapter in association with St. Peter s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hanamkonda Organized 1st convention of ISPOR Telangana at  St. Peter s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hanamkonda, Warangal.
ISPOR India Telangana Regional Chapter in association with St. Peter s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hanamkonda and Rohini Super Speciality Hospitals organized 1st Convention of International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) India - Telangana Regional Chapter on theme Concept & Role of Pharmacoeconomics & Outcomes Research in Health Care at St Peter s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences on 25 Jan 2016.

The convention was inaugurated by Dr. M. Chandra Sekar, Professor of Pharmacy, University of Findlay, Findlay, OH, USA, Prof A. Raghurama Rao, Chairman, Board of Studies, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University and Dr Eric Kupferberg Vice President & Director, India Partnership Programs, Cambridge Graduate University in the presence of Dr Rao Vadlamudi, Director St. Peter s and President, IPA, Dr. Meghana, Associate professor, Indian Institute of Public Health, Dr Pradeep Muragundi, Assistant Professor, Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mr. T. Jayapal Reddy, Chairman, St. Peter s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Secretary ISPOR Telangana chapter and Dr. Suresh Bandari, Principal, St. Peter s and President ISPOR Telangana regional chapter. Dr Bandari welcomed the guests and resource persons. Mr. T. Jayapal Reddy in his speech emphasized that St Peter s is always ready to organize such useful sessions for the students and thanked the resource persons for sparing their valuable time and ISPOR for providing this wonderful opportunity.

The aim of this convention was to provide a platform for academic scientists, doctors, industry representatives, heath care professionals and students to understand and aware about the pharmacoeconomic aspects and its significance in healthcare. This convention has specially focused sessions on  Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research: Expanding the scope of the pharmacy profession" by Dr Meghana V Aruru, "Finding Direction in the service of others: Pharmacoeconomics and Systems Leadership"by Dr Gregory Reardon, "Economics of pharmacist services in the US hospital setting" by Dr M Chandra Sekar, University of Findlay and How to carry out basic research in Pharmaceconomics in India?". All the speakers highlighted the significance of pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research in health care of Indian Scenario. Highly enthusiastic students and delegates were enthralled by these sessions and applauded the organizers for conducting such convention. The posters were presented at end of sessions in the convention and best posters were awarded with certificate and memento. Dr. Rao Vadlamudi, Mr. T. Jayapal Reddy, Dr. Suresh Bandari and other faculty felicitated the speakers and guests. This convention was a grand success because of the collective effort of the ISPOR, St Peter s and Rohini Super Speciality Hospitals. The convention ended with lots of joy and happiness expressed by highly satisfied delegates.
